When I first listened to some field audio that came in from a recent video interview, I thought I was in real trouble. There was a very high noise level and the levels were extremely low. It was hopeless.... Fortunately, I remembered Andy and High Fidelity Mastering. I really doubted anything could be done to fix the recording, but Andy offered to give it a try with a short test. The interview was excellent and the thought of loosing it was more than I could bare. After I listened to the test, my jaw hit the floor. I was flabbergasted! The noise was gone and the levels were normalized. Andy had done the impossible! I green lighted the project and voila! I had clean audio and could finish the entire video edit. Thank Goodness for High Fidelity Mastering. Andy's services are well worth making some noise over!

In my 39 years of being in music, Andy is the first mastering engineer I've met who has a genuine interest in the client. Being both an artist and mix engineer on albums I record I have definite ideas of what I want sonically. We are quite fortunate to make records for a living. I think we all agree there is an art to record making and each step along the way is vital. Preproduction, tracking, mixing, post production/mastering. Each needs the other. Often times the mastering process becomes the neglected or least understood step in the life of a record when in reality it is just as important as mixdown. If you are unclear why Mastering is so important, trust your ears and inform yourself. Make no mistake, mastering is an art. Any tracking or mixing engineer can run a song through a Finalizer or stick in a handful of plug-ins. THIS IS NOT MASTERING. All this does is add generic frequencies to give the impression of sheen, shine, and apparent loudness. A skilled tracking engineer, tracks. A skilled mixing engineer, mixes. A skilled mastering engineer only masters. I am grateful that New Mexico has the top mastering engineer in the southwest region. We are quite fortunate to have world-class talent like Andy nearby. If you are unfamiliar with the mastering process... Inform yourself. He is not a Mastering Engineer but an absolute Audio Magician. He is clearly the Merlin of his art.
